This is the story behind, The Gift.
Gifts come to us in many forms. It amazes me how many gifts we miss. Perhaps because of the form with which they come. God does work in mysterious ways. Some associate crows with death or misfortune. Crows actually symbolize transformation, change, wisdom, and many other things. I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder. Crows are very intelligent. I love the fact that sometimes crows will bring gifts to those that feed them. Tiny bits of this or that, bring so much joy to the heart that listens. The Gift isn't a story about crows. It is a story about listening. It's about getting to the place where listening is easy so that when it comes we don't miss it. Getting out of the house and into nature is a good place to start. Look at the sky until the sky is inside of you. Fill your soul and your tent with stars. Float in the river until you realize how wonderfully alive it is and it will bring life back into you. If it snows get out in it. Marvel at the miracle of it! For God's sake, there are no two snowflakes that are alike! No sunrise and no sunset are alike. We live on a beautiful globe of gifts every single day. Teach your children and your grandchildren about it. And be thankful. Put your face to the sky and say thank you! It's the best prayer you will ever pray. Then watch and listen, you may just have the world drop right at your feet. Go ahead and take it. It's a gift.
