No Still Night

No Still Night

Well as many of you have now surmised I have stories in my head while I'm working. Every piece of my art has story. This piece of art came from my fascination with the night and things unknown. I believe that there are all sorts of wonderful swirling busy things taking place all of time. Especially when we are all tucked in and unaware.

The stars are swirling and shifting place and moon is smiling down on all of it. The city with all of it's gleaming glass reflects all of the goings on. The selenite (the large white piece) is a softer crystal that is a natural fiber optic. If you shine a light on it will broadcast the light throughout itself and beyond. Selenite is also used for healing and clarity.

To me we are all one big swirling mass of energy. Creation is a well choreographed dance taking place all around us, all of the time. And we get to be a part of it whether we know we are dancing or not.

So once again, reframed in some cool slightly sparkly concrete tile, I present         “No Still Night” 24 x 32 Mixed Media

$450. PM me if you are interested. It’s a steal!

The Big Glass River and Joe

The Big Glass River

It seems like this piece has taken forever. But now that it's done I think it's been worth the time. Since I was a child nature has been my healing solace and calming grounding force. I have been blessed to live in her mountains, walk in her woods and swim in her rivers. She is never the same. She changes with the light, minute by minute and season by season. But yet she is ever steadfast in her peacefulness.
If you are ever troubled I hope you will go there. She will be there waiting to embrace you for just who are and she will call you perfect.

This is "Big Glass River". It's 16" x 52". Made of stained glass, Fenton glass, pottery shards, river rock, and glass beads for grout. $475. Please PM if you are interested.

And one more thing. Some of the pottery shards are from a very unusual piece from a boy named Joe. I think Joe spent a lot of time on this pottery piece. He had taken clay and rolled them out in strips. He took a long time painting them with blues, yellows and reds.He wound them round and round and he came out with a lopsided bottle of sorts. I imagine that he secretly thought it was beautiful. He's probably grown now and his art was finally discarded. But don't you worry Joe because I found him and now he is the star of this piece.....(Sold)
